Cornwall Day 7

The Following Blog is for the 15th July 2011

It’s amazing how things can change. Weather changed, plans changed, and the time of me coming home changed. All my previous entries for this holiday were written in bed at the end of said day. But right now as I write this entry I am sitting on my sofa back home in Stevenage on the Saturday not in bed Friday night. Reason being is because I did end up coming home last night instead of today.

If you read the previous entry you would already know the story about when I was meant to be coming home. It turns out though that everyone but Dad and Neen were coming home the Friday night, including Jo, Leon and the girls, the main reason I wanted to stay. So I decided that I would go back to coming home with Jon on the Friday night. So I ended up arriving back home on Friday night around 1am.

Anyway a quick look at what happened on the last day. Plans were originally to go to Polzeth and spend the day on the beach and have lunch at a café. Unfortunately we woke to grey clouds, rain and cold temperatures, a complete flip from the weather on Thursday. On top of the bad weather it turned out that Kez was unwell. So all plans were changed, we chilled at the Bungalows for about an hour then Dad, Nina and I went off to Port Isaac, (couldn’t get parked) then Boscastle in the hunt for a calendar for Nina.
After that we moved on to Trebarwith were we met with everyone for a meal at the Port William, I had a lovely Pasty and chips.
Couple beers later and it was back to the Bungalows where the choice was made to go home that night. BBQ, some cards then it was on the road to whisk myself back home to Mum, TV, WWE, and of course INTERNET!! Jon actually said in the car that he was going to bathe in Wi-Fi.

So that’s it, the end of my week. It’s been a great holiday and I am going to miss Cornwall and my Family, but it is good to be back. Don’t know when I will get another holiday, but if I am asked to go to Cornwall again, I doubt I will say no.

Cornwall Day 6

The Following Blog is for the 14th July 2011

Today was a lot more laid back than the other days; we spent the day on the beach once again this time with Tess and Richard and Jack. It was even hotter than other days on the beach, but I put on loads of sun cream and survived.

I spent most of the time with my ears plugged listening to music as well as looking out at the view.
After I had eaten I decided to get myself a choccy ice cream, very nice indeed. Then I decided to lie down and I must have slept about an hour or so. When I woke up the sea was splashing at my feet as the tide had come in.

After that it was back to the bungalows.
Spoke with Jon about getting home and he dropped some news on me that got me kinder down. He said he wanted to go at 9pm Friday instead of Saturday morning. I was gutted because it meant I lose a night with Kez and Megs and playing cards.
I sat around little soppy, but that’s the way I am I wear my emotions on my sleeve and I do not falsify them. If I’m feeling sad I will not force a smile, if I’m angry I will be angry and not force peacefulness.
Luckily Dad and Neen saved the day; they are determined to make room in their car for my stuff and me to get me home so I don’t miss a night here in Cornwall. I was so pleased and grateful.

BBQ was Chicken Tikka and Sausages. Played American Football with the girlies, then it was cards before bed. Now laying here typing away.

Last day tomorrow, going to the beach and the café which should be good.

Saturday we head home, back to the world of TV, (thank goodness I will have a lot to catch up on!), internet, (E-mails to be sorted, blogs to be written and uploaded, YouTube videos to be watched), and of course WWE!!!

Cornwall Day 5

The Following Blog is for the 13th July 2011

Well in my opinion this was the best day of the holiday so far!

Jon, Nina, Dad and I all went off to Padstow, we parked at Rock and caught the ferry across to Padstow where we walked 2 miles all the way down the beach, got some great shots and loved the views and scenery, you can actually see Polzeth beach in the distance. Jon and Neen started fighting over shells; Nina claims that Jon pushed her over to steal a shell she was going to get. Mother and son love aye.

We then moved on to walk along the coast line, about 2 miles back to Padstow. At Padstow my belly was almost eating on itself, so we went to the pub for drinks and lunch, I bought the first round of drinks, (because I’m generous like that), and had a chicken burger which was delicious!
We moved on from there to look through shops and wonder.

Now I’m sure you’re all thinking what is it about all that makes it the best day? Well one of the reasons I wanted to come to Padstow is so we could ride in a Power Boat, £6 per person about 15 minutes shooting out the harbour all the way down and back again. This time though the guys were making claims of going to see Dolphins as well as the ride. We didn’t think anything of it; we thought we would see nothing or maybe a fin, nothing to special. But when we got out the harbour and further out to sea there in front of us were Dolphins, I was gob smacked. And we didn’t  just see them that once, we stayed out there for quite a while watching the Dolphins and following them around, in fact we was out there a lot longer than the 15 minutes we was supposed to have! Other boats were with us watching them including another Power Boat, our boat and the other stayed together at one point and sped along with a Dolphin swimming in between us. At another moment we had the Dolphins swimming through the waves of our boat even jumping out through them.
It was absolutely fantastic and goes in one of the best experiences of my life, right next to the indoor skydiving.

So now you know why this was the best day!
Back to the bungalows were most of the group were heading out for a meal leaving Nina, Dad and myself with the kids. I looked after Kez and Megs when Nina and Dad were preoccupied.

After I had eaten I wondered down to Tess and Richards’s bungalow as they let me come and watch the Apprentice. Glad to see Natasha gone off there!

Once that was said and done I came back to our bungalow to find those who went for the meal all in there and playing cards. I sorted myself another beer and sat with Megan on my lap again, she played on her own this time though as she seemed to be doing so well all I did was sort out her cards.

Most of our group has now had a good look at the pictures as we looked through them during the card game on my lappy.

Now everyone has moved on, I’m in bed and now it’s time to sleep. Good weather tomorrow apparently so we are heading to Polzeth beach again!

Cornwall Day 4

The Following Blog is for the 12th July 2011

Got some exercise today, went for a walk around Boscastle, such a lovely location, if you don’t already know it’s the place that got completely flooded just a few years ago.

Dad, Neen and I parked up and started our journey by heading out into the valley and into the woods. The start of the walk hits a sharp up hill, it gets the blood pumping, the sweat dripping and brings heavy breathing, but it’s all worth it for the beautiful views and lovely locations you see as you go.
You start in the woods; you end up going past a lovely little church, and then threw fields with cows, across the cost line, until you come into the harbour.
Met up with the rest of the group for lunch, bought myself a Cornish pasty, a must for when you’re in Cornwall.

After drinks at the pub I parted ways with Dad and Neen and joined the others. We went on to Tintagel, one of my favourite places down here as you have the great shops; I was able to buy myself a new wallet.

We browsed the other shops and the entire time Kez and Megs wanted to hold my hands, they just can’t get enough of me! They kept asking whether or not we would be playing American Football when we got back to the bungalows, and they were thrilled to have me sit in the back of the car with them.
We went on to Port Isaac where we looked in more shops, not much there but I did get some chocolate raisins.

Back at the Bungalows took a shower then went over the pictures with Dad, football with the girls, eat, cards and now bed.

So a pretty full day. Tomorrow it’s Padstow with Dad, Neen and Jon. Speed Boats and shops, no picnic this time we are going to eat from a pub which will be a pleasant change.

So that’s it for now see you tomorrow!

Cornwall Day 3

The Following Blog is for the 11th July 2011

I love my nieces, there’s not much else I should put other than that. There the best pair of girlies I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. They always want to be around me, want to talk to me and play with me. Sometimes kids like that can be annoying but Kez and Megs know when to pack it in and are just a smart pair.

When I say smart I mean real smart, yesterday I showed them Super noughts and crosses and they picked up the rules really quick, and today I was throwing an American Football around with them and they learnt how to throw the ball easily and quickly they also wanted to learn the games rules, I taught them a few bits but didn’t want to confuse them, but what I did teach them seems to of stuck, which I’m pleased with because American Football is my game!

Today was another day at the beach, was more careful this time, protected my legs and feet and they have seemed to of survived, unfortunately just under my left arm does have a nice bright red patch, (which dad decided to slap about 10 minutes ago, I was not amused.) I also have a sore head because I don’t wear hats; I tend to find I look like a trucker.

While on the beach I just chilled, caught some shut eye, and helped Kez and Megs with the castles, by help I mean I made some silly Volcano using the football.

Sitting down a little later and the girls decided to burry my feet in the sand, kinder a good thing because it protected them form the sun for the time they were covered.

Back to the bungalows for some damn good pork off the BBQ, drink and chatter and celebration as it was Tess and Richards’s anniversary. This is when the girls and I started throwing the football around again.

When it came to playing cards I had Megan on my team and she helped me win more this time, she always knew when to swap hands and when we did we seemed to win, may of got a dead leg again but I came out winning more than losing.

That once again leads us to now, me in bed writing away. Tomorrow is Boscatle and Tintagel; I’m in hope that I can find a new wallet.

Cornwall day 2

The following blog is for the 10th July 2011

AGGGHHHH!!!! PAIN!!!!! AGHHHHH…… Sorry had to get that out of my system, my feet and legs are burning and are quite red. Reason? Well we spent the day on the beach and I may have caught quite a bit of sun, I know what you’re thinking, “why didn’t you put sun cream on?” Well I did put sun cream on but I guess Factor 30 isn’t good enough! My legs round my knees are bright red my face and arms are pink and my feet are red and so sore. While sitting playing cards I had to actually take my shoes off because they were iterating me so much.

Woke up at a good time today chilled and went to the beach, enjoyed the sun, went to the shops bought some crisps and some Jammy Dodgers, (Mmmm JAMMY!) then came back and had lunch, spent most of my time after that just lying there catching the rays and listening to music.
A castle building competition broke out between Jon and Leon and the girlies.

After that Daddio and I dropped Nina off at the Bungalow’s and then headed to the local Spar shop for some more supplies, (yes beer again. Dad drank through all 9 of his as of last night and today. I only bought 2 and they went last night also.) I bought a 4 pack of Carling and Dad stocked up on Doom. We was just finishing up when dad spotted a must have beer to at least try. It was called the Ginger Tosser, (picture already taken of bottle and uploaded to Facebook, Kevin has already been tagged in it.) Some good food was eaten then I played with the girls for a while, throwing the American football, which I had bought earlier in the day, and just being silly.

When all food was consumed and we was all chilled we headed to Jo and Leon’s bungalow for an even bigger game of cards than last time as Julie, Louise and Jon also joined in. Kez helped me but we only ever won once. Kez said she wasn’t teaming with me again, I’m now sad.

Anyway after all that we have come back, now me and my burning feet are in bed, going to get some shut eye and get ready for another day on Polzeth beach, just hope I live and not burn my skin off!
